The qualifying series of the 2024 Ashanti Regional Inter-Schools and Colleges Boys Soccer Championship has been confirmed to begin and end next week and will definitely be filled with so much excitement and surprises.
Over 120 senior high schools in the region will be competing against each other in 32 different groups with winners of each booking a spot in the main competition.
Reigning champions Kumasi Anglican SHS defeated Sakafia SHS by 1-0 to emerge champions last year and that marked their sixth title in what was a thrilling final at the Baba Yara Stadium.
The Disciples' quest to their title defense will begin in Group 17 where they will have to compete against Mansoman SHS, Asuoso SHS and Osei Adutwum SHS for the prestigious spot.
Runners up of the last edition Sakafia SHS, defied all odds to win the Top 8 tournament early this year, and will also battle it out against Konadu Yiadom SHS, Agric Nzema SHS and Bosomtwe STEM SHS in Group 16.
Grand-masters Osei Kyeretwie SHS, T.I Ahmadiyyah SHS, Kumasi, Prempeh College, Opoku Ware SHS, will all be in the qualifying series as usual to look for a spot for the main event.
The qualifying series are expected to commence on Tuesday, November 19, to Friday, November 22, 2024. The main competition is most likely to take place in January next year.
