Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko will face Nigerian side Kwara United in the first preliminary round of the 2025/26 CAF Confederation Cup
The Porcupine Warriors earned this slot after emerging as champions of the Ghana FA Cup last season- beating lower division side Golden Kick FC by 2-1 in the final
Kwara United, has been in existence for 28 years now and have been inside-out of the Nigerian topflight but have been a mainstay since 2019 till date and featured in this competition in 2022
They once again secured the spot to compete in the continent’s second biggest competition after beating Abaliki FC via penalty shootouts in the final
The winner of this tie will face Moroccan giants Wydad Athletic Club in the second preliminary round
The first leg is slated for the weekend of September 19-21, while the return encounter will be held on September 26-28, 2025
