USA-based winger, Joseph Paintsil is currently a doubt for Ghana's double header against Sudan in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, confirmed by the Ghana FA.
This is on the back of the injury he sustained over the weekend when in action for LA Galaxy in their 2-1 home win over FC Austin in the MLS and made way for Diego Fagùndez on the 87th minute.
Ghana FA Spokesperson Henry Asante Twum has stated the extent of the injury hasn't been determined yet but they are waiting for the latest update on his injury from the club's medical team to confirm whether he will be available for the game.
"There are a few concerns with Joseph Paintsil. He was substituted during LA Galaxy's match, so we’ve contacted the club to get a full report on his fitness. Our medical team, led by Dr. Pamboe, always reaches out to clubs to assess the health of players after matches, and we’re awaiting an update before any decisions are made", he said on Peace FM in Accra.
Already, Majeed Ashimeru, Ibrahim Osman and Kingsley Schindler have all pulled out with knocks and have been replaced with Abu Francis, Ibrahim Sadiq and Jonas Adjei Adjetey.
The Black Stars held their first training session earlier at the Ohene Gyan Stadium looking to have themselves adequately prepared and ready for the upcoming assignments.
The first leg of Ghana versus Sudan is slated for Thursday, October 10.
