Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has named his official 26-man squad for the final two games in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Angola and Niger in an announcement that was made at the GFA Conference Room.
While Andre Ayew continues to miss out despite getting minutes recently at Ligue 1 side Le Havre, his successor as captain Thomas Partey has also been dropped this time despite having a great season so far at Arsenal - where he's been nominated for October player of the month.
Coventry City winger Brendan Thomas-Asante has also been excluded from the squad this time having struggled to command starting place since his debut invite into the senior national team. Majeed Ashimeru is also missing so as AS Monaco defender Mohammed Salisu- who is reportedly injured.
Three home-based players made the cut this time including FC Samartex's Isaac Afful. Nations FC captain Razak Simpson also made the list alongside Asante Kotoko midfielder Emmanuel Antwi - with these two becoming the new entries in the team.
The four-time African champions will be regrouping very soon to honour their final two games to officially wrap up the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers of which qualification is currently looking very unlikely.
Ghana has just two points from their opening four matches, having lost two and drawn two and are currently sitting on the third spot in Group F, behind Sudan and leaders Angola.
The Black Stars will face next Angola on Friday, November 15 in Luanda, before they play Niger in their final game on Monday, November 18, and will have to win all these matches at all cost and hope results of other games will favour them to qualify.
