Ghana midfielder Ibrahim Sulemana has been forced to leave the Black Stars camp after sustaining an injury in training, with his club Bologna set to carry out further medical checks.

The 21-year-old picked up the knock during preparations for last Thursday’s World Cup qualifier against Chad, ruling him out of contention for the crucial fixture.

Team doctors advised Sulemana’s immediate return to Italy for detailed scans and treatment, ensuring the youngster gets the proper care required for his recovery.

His absence is a setback for Otto Addo, who had planned to draw on Sulemana’s industry and tactical discipline in midfield. The Black Stars coach will now have to adjust his plans as Ghana look to strengthen their grip at the top of Group I.

For Sulemana, the priority will be a swift return to fitness to resume duties for both club and country, with Bologna monitoring his progress closely.
