The Ghana senior men national team have already opened camp in the capital, Accra, and will train later today to begin preparations towards the next round of matches of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
All invited 24 players were all in action over the weekend for their various clubs except Mohammed Salisu, Alexander Djiku, goalkeeper Benjamin Asare and Saudi-based Christopher Bonsu Baah - as captured in our previous article.
The players started arriving last night namely captain Jordan Ayew, Antoine Semenyo, Elisha Owusu, Christopher Bonsu Baah, Jonas Adjetey, Jerry Afriyie, Benjamin Asare, Joseph Anang, Ibrahim Sulemana, Kamaldeen Sulemana, Gideon Mensah and Ibrahim Osman.
The rest of the players will also join by the close of the day. The first training session is expected to be held later today at the Accra Sports Stadium and will supervised by head coach Otto Addo, who also touched down last night and his assistants. The team will fly out to N’Djamena for the Chad game on Tuesday
The Black Stars will play away at Chad this Thursday, September 4, before they host Mali in four days time in the capital - in what will be a must win for the four-time African champions.
The Black Stars have five wins and draw from their opening six matches and are currently leading Group I with 15 points.
