Ghana head coach Otto Addo has assured fans that the Black Stars will give everything to secure victory against Madagascar on Monday and maintain their position at the top of Group I.

The Black Stars climbed to the summit of their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying group after a commanding 5-0 victory over Chad on Friday at the Accra Sports Stadium.

However, they now face a tougher challenge against second-placed Madagascar, who remain in contention for the top spot.

Speaking after the win over Chad, Addo emphasized the importance of staying in control of the group and pledged that his team would approach Monday’s game with full intensity.

“It’s always easier when you’re on top. We want to stay there, and we will do everything possible to beat Madagascar on Monday to keep the top spot,” he stated.

The four-time African champions are determined to claim all three points to strengthen their bid for a fifth World Cup appearance.

This follows their disappointing AFCON 2024 qualifying campaign, which saw them miss out on the tournament for the first time in two decades.

Ghana will travel to Morocco, where Madagascar will host the fixture, looking to build on their momentum and take another step toward securing a place at the 2026 World Cup.
