President of New Edubiase United, Abdul Salam Yakubu has called on President-Elect John Dramani Mahama to appoint a competent and a skilled sports minister who is well versed in Ghana football and can take it to the next level.
According to Yakubu, those appointed previously have not contributed anything to the growth of the game in the country.
“The current government appointed two sports ministers in eight years. What have they done? We need a sports minister who is very serious and can take our football to a different level,” he told Asempa FM.
“If the new government is appointing a sports minister, they should hire someone who understands the game.
“We know the processes, everyone can read and understand, but someone who understands the nitty-gritties of the game should be appointed.”
Mustapha Ussif, who is the current sports minister, has held the position for the past four years, with Isaac Asiamah superintending the preceding four years.
