Ghanaian legend and Nania FC owner, Abedi Ayew Pele has explained why they didn't celebrate despite the precious win over Hearts of Oak last Wednesday.
The 2011 champions after a goalless draw in regulation time, defeated the giants 3-4 on penalties to advance to round 32 of the FA Cup.
Reacting to their win, the ex- Black Stars captain and three-time Africa's best player, stated they chose not to over celebrate because of the respect they have for the 'Phobians.'
He also added that, they are in the competition to enjoy themselves since they have won before and will take of another opportunity when it comes.
"There is no motivation, we just want to enjoy ourselves. This is an FA Cup we have won before so we were just taking our chances and we are lucky to have a good day and win the match”
“We have a big respect for Hearts of Oak, it’s a big team and we respect them much. We all supported Hearts of Oak when we were kids so we cannot enjoy. You see we have won the game but we are quiet that shows Hearts of Oak belong to all of us” he said.
Nania FC in 2011, edged giants Asante Kotoko to win the reintroduced Ghanaian FA Cup and the club also went on to beat then GPL champions Berekum Chelsea to win the 2011 Ghana Super Cup.
