Bibiani GoldStars coach, Frimpong Manso, has called on Black Stars coach Otto Addo to give the three local players in the squad a chance to feature in Ghana's final games of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.

The local players named for the upcoming matches against Angola and Niger are Razak Simpson, Isaac Afful, and Emmanuel Antwi.

Despite the limited opportunities for home-based players in the national team, Manso believes that with Ghana's slim chances of qualifying, these games should be used to give local talent a chance to prove themselves.

“Our chances of qualifying for the AFCON are about 10 percent, so I think Otto Addo should give the local players the opportunity to play against Angola and Niger,” Manso told Asempa FM.

He emphasized that this would not only allow the local players to showcase their skills but would also inspire other players in the Ghana Premier League to work harder.

“It will be good for the Ghana Premier League and motivate other players to put in more effort,” Manso added.

The Black Stars are set to travel to Luanda later today for their match against Angola on Friday, November 15, at the Estádio 11 de Novembro, before hosting Niger at the Accra Sports Stadium on Monday, November 18, in their final qualifying game.
