Former Ghana international Stephen Frimpong Manso is confident the Black Stars have enough quality to beat Somalia in their upcoming 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
Ghana head into the double-header under pressure after losing their opening Group C matches against Côte d'Ivoire and The Gambia, with the defeat to the latter coming on home soil.
The four-time African champions must collect the three maximum points from both encounters to revive their qualification campaign and strengthen their hopes of reaching the continental showpiece.
Despite the growing quality of African football, Frimpong Manso believes Ghana should have little difficulty overcoming Somalia if the players deliver their best performances.
Speaking to Sporty FM, the former Bibiani Goldstars coach stressed that calls for more home-based players should not be mistaken for a lack of respect for Somalia.
"The fact that we are calling for domestic players to play doesn't mean Somalia is not a good side. Football today has seen a lot of development; several teams get the opportunity to qualify for tournaments, and the number of teams has also been increased, as well as the regional tournaments, which are giving these countries exposure," he stated.
However, Manso insists Ghana's superior quality should make the difference, particularly in the home fixtures.
"But comparatively, when we are talking about football, we don't have to struggle to win against Somalia. I think we should be able to win at home no matter the players we parade.
"Somalia are coming up, but if our players give off their best, Somalia cannot stand against us."
Ghana will face Somalia on November 12 and 16, with the Black Stars eager to win both games and revive their AFCON 2027 qualification hopes.
