Salim Adams, a former midfielder for Hearts of Oak and current player for FC Cincinnati 2, has been selected to play for Ghana's U23 National Team in the upcoming African Cup of Nations (ACON) qualifiers.
The Black Meteors will compete in the third round of the qualifiers after a 4-1 aggregate victory over Mozambique in October.
Adams will aim to make his debut for Ghana in the U23s' games against Algeria, which will take place on March 24 and March 28. The winner of the home and away series will earn a place in the 2023 U23 ACON tournament, which will be hosted by Morocco in June.
Ghana's highest finish in the U23 competition occurred in 2019 when they placed fourth after losing to South Africa on penalties in the third-place match.
Adams participated in all seven pre-season games for FC Cincinnati 2 before the team's MLS NEXT Pro opener against Toronto FC II at Scudamore Field at NKU Soccer Stadium on March 27.
