Ghanaian legend, Andre Ayew met with the senior women national team of Ghana ahead of their crunchy game against Egypt tomorrow in the second leg of the final round of 2026 WAFCON qualifiers.
The Black Queens were unstoppable in the first leg having put three past the Cleopatras in the first leg last Thursday in Ismailia giving them a commanding lead and has now enhanced their qualification chances.
However, the Queens refused to train for days due to unpaid bonuses from the last WAFCON tournament but have finally decided to after meetings with the Sports Minister and the GFA President.
The latest to pay them a visit at their base Erata Hotel is former Black Stars captain Andre Ayew and this isn’t the first time. He had a great time with the players where he motivated them ahead of them and added the arrears will definitely be sorted soon as he’s been in that situation before.
"[Unpaid bonuses] is something I’ve been through, so I know how you feel," Ayew told the squad. "Sometimes things get delayed, but they’ll be done."
The second leg is slated for Tuesday, October 28, at the Ohene Gyan Stadium at 15:30GMT (3:30pm)
