The 2021/22 Ashanti Regional football season was finally wrapped up last Thursday, June 23, 2022 with deserved champions emerged from the various divisions.
The region's highest football governing body after another successful campaign, have released a statement signed by their Chairman, Osei Tutu Agyemang to express their profound gratitude to all stakeholders that contributed their quota in establishing another great season.
At juvenile level, it was Benab Ajax FC that emerged victors after humbling Kumasi Barcelona Babies by 2-0 in the final and both teams however, will represent the region in the second edition of the KGL U-17 Champions League which will be staged in Accra later this year.
In the third division, Obuasi-based Nacoro Sporting Club finished as the champions after beating Cunturio Life FC on penalties in the final and have now qualified to the second division.
And the most anticipated is the battle for the division one spot which was eventually won by Asekem FC, having stunned Pro Players Academy 5-4 via penalty shootouts. They have cruised into the national division one and will compete in zone two next season.
After really a very tough and stressful campaign, the Ashanti Regional Football Association wish to thank the football clubs for their smooth cooperation, the media, most importantly the supporters and all stakeholders for their great contribution to the game.
