The Porcupine Warriors goalkeeper says they are ready to frustrate and change the narrative of Hearts of Oak winning maiden trophies in Ghana.
Asante Kotoko will go toe-to-toe with sworn rivals Hearts of Oak in the first Democracy Cup match scheduled to be played on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The Democracy Cup match is part of activities marking the 30th anniversary of Ghana's parliamentary democracy themed "30 Years of Parliamentary Democracy Under the 4th Republic: The Journey Thus Far."
Speaking at a press confab on Tuesday, July 16, 20244, at Parliament House, Asare said; "The Narrative of Hearts of Oak winning maiden trophies is going to change tomorrow because it's a new era.
Before the Hearts and Kotoko game at 6pm - former Black Stars players and Parliamentarians will face each other (at 1pm) in a curtain raiser match to the landmark event celebrating Ghana's flourishing democracy.
The winner of the Democracy Cup will represent Ghana in a friendly game against MLS outfit DC United in Washington.
