Asante Kotoko will resume training on Friday, June 28, 2024, at the Adako Jachie training grounds as they prepare for the highly anticipated Democracy Cup match against Accra Hearts of Oak on July 5, 2024, at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The Porcupine Warriors have been busy in the transfer market, having trimmed their squad to 19 players after releasing 24 players due to indiscipline and disrespect towards the technical team. With less than 15 players remaining, the club is in dire need of reinforcements to prepare adequately for the game.

This will be the third meeting between the two bitter rivals this season, with Asante Kotoko SC having already secured two victories in both legs of the Ghana Premier League. A win for Kotoko would give them bragging rights over their rivals, while Hearts of Oak will be seeking redemption after consecutive defeats.

The Democracy Cup, organized by the Parliament of Ghana with the support of the Ghana Football Association, is a special match that brings together two of Ghana's most successful clubs. Asante Kotoko SC are 24-time Ghanaian champions, while Hearts of Oak are a close second with 21 titles.

The Porcupine Warriors will be eager to bounce back from their recent struggles and make a strong statement in front of a packed Accra Sports Stadium crowd. With their transfer business almost done, fans can expect to see a revamped and rejuvenated team take to the pitch.
