Asante Kotoko winger Peter Amidu Acquah has been called up to the Ghana U-20 national team ahead of the upcoming WAFU Zone B Championship.

Coach Desmond Offei announced a provisional squad of 35 players to begin camping last Saturday. The squad comprises players from the Africa Games team, those who recently toured Europe, and additional talents who have caught the technical team's eye, including two players who participated in the recent WAFU Zone B Under-17 Championship in Accra.

Amidu Acquah had a standout season with the Porcupine Warriors, playing a pivotal role in helping the team secure a sixth-place finish in the just-concluded season.

In his first season with Kotoko, the 17-year-old featured in 29 games and scored four goals, earning him a well-deserved national team invite.

The selected players were instructed to report to the GFA's Technical Centre, the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence, on Sunday, August 11, for the first phase of preparations as they vie for a spot in the final squad.
