Sakafia SHS are the champions of the Ashanti Regional Inter-Schools Top eight competition organised to honour President of Ghana H.E Nana Akuffo Addo, after edging Prempeh College via penalty shootouts.

The first Ashanti Top 8 competition started in 2017 and was organised by the Daring Team Ghana then, but hasn't been in session again since the third edition in 2019.

However, the same competition returned this time with the Ghana League Club's Association (GHALCA) as the organisers and is part of the activities to celebrate the country's 67th Independence anniversary.

The Pink and Whites were in the final of the main Ashanti Regional Inter-Schools soccer championship but unfortunately lost narrowly to Kumasi Anglican SHS.

They staged a huge revenge this time to beat the Sofoline-based school 3-1 on penalties in the final to clinch the title after a goalless draw in regulation time.

On road to final, Sakafia SHS won over Adu Gyamfi SHS and Kumasi Anglican SHS, all through penalties to get into the last two and finally had their hands gripped to the coveted trophy.

This is the second time they are winning the Ashanti Top eight competition after winning the Daring Team's edition in 2018- beating T.I AMASS, Kumasi in the final.
