Black Galaxies head coach, Mas-Ud Didi Dramani has called 30 players to camp to play perennial rivals Nigeria in the African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifiers.

The 30 players were invited to camp in order to be ready for the Black Galaxies to qualify for the African Nations Championship finals next year.

However, former Black Galaxies midfielder Emmanuel Asiedu Attobrah has urged the invited players that in order to restore Ghana's glory in continental football, they must perform to the best of their abilities as Ghana Premier League emissaries.

“The senior national team has had a tough year, so the focus is on the Black Galaxies to bring joy to Ghanaians by beating Nigeria and booking a spot in the CHAN tournament,” he told Citi Sports.

“It’s not just about the players; the GFA must also play their part. This being the last qualifier of the year, everyone needs to give their all.

“Ghana versus Nigeria is always a high-stakes game, no matter the level—U-17, U-20, Black Stars, or Black Galaxies. It’s never a small match, and I hope and pray they come out victorious,” Attobrah added.

In order to prepare for the first leg of the qualifying match against Nigeria's Super Eagles B, which is scheduled for the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday, December 22, the players have left the shores of Ghana for Togo as both nation's will meet in an international friendly game.

The match, scheduled to be played in Lomé, is part of Ghana’s preparation for their crucial African Nations Championship qualifier against Nigeria.

Coach Didi Dramani has emphasized the importance of this friendly in fine-tuning his squad ahead of the decisive encounter. Speaking before the team’s departure for Togo.

“This match is not just a friendly; it’s an opportunity to assess the team’s performance under competitive conditions.” he stated.

The second leg of the qualifiers against Super Eagles B will be played on Saturday, December 28, at Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo.

The African Nations Championship will take place in Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania in February 2025.
