Antoine Semenyo is still flying higher in the Premier League and has settled down so well at his new club Manchester City and is looking forward to bringing similar form and energy at 2026 FIFA World Cup for Ghana.

The four-time African champions will be making their fifth appearance at the ‘Coppa Mundial’ in the 2026 edition and have been drawn in Group L together with 1966 champions England, 2018 finalists Croatia and Panama.

Speaking on CBS Sport, the versatile attacker expressed readiness for the big tournament coming up and is just hoping to continue like this till the end of the ongoing campaign.

"If I score for Ghana against England at the World Cup, I will probably dance with the whole team."

“We want to show people around the world that Ghana is one of the top nations and we can compete with the best.”

“There’s been a bit of small talk [with English players], but as Ghanaians, we know it’s going to be a bit of a challenge. They are a star-studded team. They have so many top-class players, but we believe in ourselves.”

He further stated that Ghana will have to prove themselves once again to the world that they are capable of competing and staying in the same brackets with the best and added he will celebrate massively should find the net against his country of birth (England).

Currently at his new club Manchester City, Semenyo has five goals and an assist in five matches in all competitions.

Also, he has 12 goals in the Premier League since the commencement of the new season and needs just one to become Ghana’s highest scorer in a single English topflight campaign.

The Black Stars will regroup next month to take on Austria and Germany in pre-World Cup friendlies.
