Spanish-based midfielder, Iddrisu Baba has once again been overlooked in the latest Black Stars call up for their game against Madagascar next month in the 2023 AFCON qualifiers.

The 27 year old couldn't make the cut in the last squad announced despite playing actively for Real Mallorca in the Spanish Laliga, having made 28 appearances.

The lanky midfielder use to be an integral member of the team and played a huge role in the qualification of the 2022 World Cup but was excluded from the squad that played at the Mundial.

Hughton has selected a 24-player group for the crucial game. The squad includes the return of Alidu Seidu and Kwasi Okyere Wriedt, while Ernest Nuamah, who plays for Nordsjaelland in the Danish Superliga, receives his first call-up to the senior national team due to his impressive performances.

Additionally, Nicholas Opoku, a defender from Amiens, Patrick Kpozo, based in Moldova, and Majeed Ashimeru, a midfielder from Anderlecht, have been recalled to the squad.

Ghana currently leads their Africa Cup of Nations Cote D'Ivoire 2023 qualifying group with 8 points from two wins and two draws in the first four matches. The match against Madagascar will be held at Stade Kianja Barea in Antananarivo at 17:00 local time.
