The Ghana League Clubs Association have already chosen the iconic Baba Yara Stadium as venue for the upcoming Top 4 tournament but will have to start looking for options on the back of the recent comments made by the chairman of the National Sports Authority
The GHALCA top four tournament is an off-season competition organized for the best performing clubs in the previous campaign to test their strength for the upcoming season
This year’s edition will be competed by champions Bibiani GoldStars, Heart of Lions and the two giants; Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko
The Kumasi Sports Stadium was announced as the main venue but NSA boss Yaw Ampofo Ankrah says the facility is currently not ready to host any football game but are working tirelessly to get it back in a good shape
“The current condition of Baba Yara Stadium does not meet the necessary requirements to host a tournament like the GHALCA Top Four," he told Original FM.
"We’re focused on ensuring the stadium is safe and fully functional before it can hold any large-scale events again.”
The 2025 GHALCA Top 4 tournament will be held from August 20-24, 2025.
