Midfielder Kwasi Sibo has described his debut call-up to the Black Stars as a “blessing,” following his first appearance for Ghana in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

The Real Oviedo midfielder earned his chance in the Matchday 8 clash against Mali at the Accra Sports Stadium, where he partnered Thomas Partey in central midfield due to the suspension of Elisha Owusu.

Reflecting on the experience, the 25-year-old expressed gratitude for the opportunity to represent Ghana at the highest level.

“Being part of the 23-man squad is a blessing. If you get the opportunity, you must seize it,” Sibo told Graphic Sports.

Looking ahead, Sibo assured Ghanaians of the team’s determination to secure a ticket to the 2026 World Cup in the USA, Canada, and Mexico.

“We have to give our all to make the dream of 2026 World Cup qualification a reality. That’s what Ghanaians expect of us.”

The Black Stars will regroup in October for the final round of qualifiers against Central African Republic and Comoros, with Sibo eager to cement his place in Otto Addo’s squad.
