Benab FC U13 side defeated Assign Team Managerial 1-0 in the final of the maiden edition of the BENAB Annual Football Tournament on Sunday, March 9.
The competition which was organized by Management of Benab FC saw eight (8) professional teams battle it out for supremacy.
The two-day football tournament took place at the Mampong School Park in the Asokore Mampong Municipal area.
The theme for the maiden edition of the gala was to scout for talent and promote unity among the clubs.
The final between Benab and Assign Team Managerial attracted special guests such as President and Bankroller of Benab FC, Alhaji Benan and some religious leaders in the community.
Host Benab FC made sure the trophy stayed at home by showing class in the final getting the only goal of the game to be crowned champions of the tournament.
Offinso Rainbow finished third by beating Figo FC 1-0 in the third/fourth place game.
For their prizes, Benab FC received a giant trophy and an undisclosed cash.
The 1st runner-up and the 2nd runner up also received an undisclosed cash for their performance.
Attendance was massive for the duration of the competition, as large crowd besieged the venue each day to enjoy soccer artistry from their various team.
The Benab Annual Football Gala is expected to continue growing with the next edition slated for next year.
