The Black Galaxies have been promised a double qualification bonus after edging out sworn rivals Nigeria over the weekend to qualify for the 2023 African Nations Championship. 

Ghana completed a 4-0 on aggregate victory over Benin in the first qualifying round before wrapping it up with a penalty shootouts win over their neighbours.

Goals from Daniel Afriyie Barnieh and Suraj Seidu powered the Galaxies to a 2-0 triumph in the first leg in Cape Coast, but suffered to the same defeat in Abuja last Saturday but subsequently won 5-4 via penalties to cruise into the main competition, having missed out on the last three editions. 
 
However, the Ghana's home-based national team after qualification, had all their per diems arrears cleared and are to set to get a double winning bonus. Chairman of the Black Galaxies, Dr. Tony Aubynn confirmed this report to Akoma FM in Kumasi;  
 
"It's true, we will do the needful. We have already spoken with the authorities at the Sports Ministry."
 
"The players have already received their per diems when we went to Nigeria and an agreement has been reached between the government and playing body that they will receive double winning bonus for beating Nigeria and Ghana."
 
"Looking at the approach made by the sports Ministry, these guys will definitely be enriched with some bonuses because the most sought after was the qualification and that has been achieved and I have so much confidence that the ministry will do it." He concluded
