The Black Starlets secured a confidence-boosting 1-0 win over Division One League Zone Three leaders Port City in a pre-tournament friendly, with captain Joseph Narbi scoring the only goal.

Narbi scored just minutes after kickoff, as he calmly finishing a well-worked team move to net the only goal of the match. His early strike set the tone for a competitive game that tested the Starlets' focus.

Port City fought back strongly, showing why they top Zone Three. Their aggressive pressing and structured play challenged the national U17 side, forcing the Starlets to stay disciplined throughout the match.

The match is part of Ghana’s build-up to the 2026 U17 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco this April. The technical team is using competitive friendlies to improve match fitness and evaluate squad depth.

The Starlets are set to face Semper Fi later today as part of a plan to give all players sufficient game time and prepare them for tournament conditions.
