Ghana’s national U-17 boys team continued their preparations for the upcoming CAF U-17 Africa Cup of Nations with two convincing wins in a highly-rated friendlies against FC Samartex in a double header at the Nsenkyire Sports Complex over the weekend. 

The two-time world champions were in dominant form in the opening fixture on Saturday, March 14, where they recorded an emphatic 6-0 win over Samartex’s youth side in a one-sided encounter.

The teams met again on Sunday, March 15, with the Black Starlets taking on Samartex’s senior team. Despite facing stronger opposition, the national side produced another solid display to secure a slim 1-0 victory and complete a successful two-game sweep.

The results add up to series of encouraging performances recorded earlier in Accra, with Prosper Narteh’s boys having also registered wins against clubs like Attram De Visser Academy, Semper Fi FC, and Port City FC.

The Black Starlets returns to the continental tourney after nearly nine years and are very focused in camp as they aim to impress and secure qualification for the next FIFA U-17 World Cup. 

The Timber Giants despite being out of the FA Cup, kept themselves busy with a good test to have themselves for their next league fixture away at Eleven Wonders.
