Black Stars first choice goalkeeper, Jojo Wollacott has pulled out of the Kirin Cup tournament due to illness, per reports in the local media.
The 25 year old since making his debut for the senior national team has established himself as a mainstay and is currently the first choice, fending off competition from active four shot-stoppers.
The Swindon Town goalie started off the 2023 AFCON qualifiers on a higher note last week, after keeping a clean sheet against Madagascar but missed out in the second game.
According to the latest speculations, Wollacott, who was just recently named the best goalkeeper in the English league 2, has left the Black Stars camp due to illness and has flew off to London for immediate treatment.
The Kirin Cup tournament is a four nation competition, pitting Japan, Ghana, Tunisia and Chile.
The team arrived in Osaka last night and will face the host country in their opening game on Friday, June 10, 2022.
