The Black Stars of Ghana held their first training session ahead of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations this evening at the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex in Kumasi.

The team touched down in Kumasi earlier this morning and have now officially began camping ahead of the continent's biggest football competition which comes off in Cote D'Ivoire, in few weeks from now.

Twenty-five (25) players were present at Abrankese today in the first training session which was really an intensed one under the tutelage of head coach Chris Hughton.

The remaining two are Kudus Mohammed and Inaki Williams, who haven't joined the rest of the squad yet but are expected to join their colleagues as soon as possible.

Ghana will face the Brave Warriors of Namibia in a pre-tournament friendly on January 8, and that will be their last game before they jet off to Cote D'Ivoire for the main tournament in two days time.

Ghana have been housed in Group B alongside grand masters Egypt, Cape Verde and Mozambique.

The 2023 Africa Cup of Nations will begin on January 13, 2024, and the four-time champions will face the Blue Sharks of Cape Verde in their first game the next day in Abidjan.
