Ghana’s Black Stars will fly out of Accra on Tuesday for N’Djamena ahead of their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Chad.

Otto Addo’s side gathered for their first training session at the Accra Sports Stadium on Monday, with 12 players present as preparations began. The remainder of the 24-man squad are expected to link up with the team before departure.

In keeping with FIFA and CAF protocols, the Black Stars will hold a final session at the Stade Olympique Maréchal Idriss Déby Itno on Wednesday — the venue for Thursday’s nerve cracking showdown. Kick-off is scheduled for 1pm.

Ghana currently top Group I with 15 points from six matches, three clear of Comoros, with Madagascar (10), Mali (9), and the Central African Republic (5) trailing. Chad are yet to record a point in the qualifier.

Victory in N’Djamena would strengthen Ghana’s push for an automatic World Cup berth before they host Mali in Accra on 8 September. The Black Stars will then conclude their qualifying series in October against the Central African Republic and Comoros.

Coach Otto Addo’s men, who are aiming for a fifth World Cup appearance, know momentum in this September double-header could prove decisive in the race to North America.
