The senior men national team of Ghana have departed the shores of the country on Friday to Angola ahead of their game against Central African Republic in  match-day 2 of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Head coach, Otto Addo has trimmed down his initial 33 man squad to 25 for the trip to Luanda  and also the Kirin Cup tournament in Japan with some notable and surprising ommissions.

Orlando Pirates goalkeeper, Richard Ofori has been dropped from the squad so as Spanish-based defender Joseph Aidoo and Antoine Semenyo all due to injuries
 
Two home-based players, Daniel Afriyie Barnieh and Augustine Okrah have also been left home with Dennis Korsah getting a late call up to join the trip.
 
Also, German-based winger Christopher Antwi Adjei has been given a late call up but will only join the team in Japan for the Kirin Cup tournament.
 
Ghana kicked off their campaign with a resounding 3-0 victory last Wednesday and will face Central African Republic on Sunday, June 5, 2022.
