Kofi Adams says the Black Stars remain one of Ghana’s strongest global brands and continue to play a major role in promoting the country around the world.

Speaking on SoccerChat, the Sports and Recreation Minister said the Black Stars give Ghana international exposure that few other platforms can provide, especially during major competitions like the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

“The Black Stars is one of our biggest brands, and it markets the country so much and sometimes so effectively than any other tool can ever do,” Kofi Adams said.

The minister used Ghana’s upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup group-stage game against England as an example of how popular the team is around the world.

“Take our second World Cup game against England, for instance. It’s going to be watched by billions of people,” he stated.

“For the 90 minutes that the game will be played, Ghana will be marketed for free. Ask yourself how much we would’ve paid for those eyeballs from billions of people.”

Ghana will begin their 2026 FIFA World Cup campaign against Panama at BMO Field on June 17.

The Black Stars will then face England at Boston Stadium on June 23 before ending their Group D campaign against Croatia national football team at Lincoln Financial Field on June 27.
