Ghana assistant coach Roger De Sá has expressed confidence that the Black Stars can advance beyond the group stage of the 2026 FIFA World Cup if the team performs to its full potential.
Ghana will be making their fifth appearance at the global showpiece, which will be hosted across the United States, Canada and Mexico.
The Black Stars are targeting a stronger campaign after exiting at the group stage in both the 2014 and 2022 editions.
Speaking on the Beyond The Whistle podcast, the South African tactician said the technical team believes progress is possible, provided players fully embrace their responsibilities on the pitch.
“We are here to do our best and make Ghanaians happy. If Carlos does his job, there is none better than him,” De Sá said.
“We will take our targets as they come. If our players play to their abilities, we have a realistic chance of progressing,” he added.
Ghana have been drawn in Group L alongside Panama, England and Croatia.
The Black Stars will open their campaign against Panama at BMO Field in Toronto on June 17, before taking on England at the Boston Stadium on June 23. Their final group match will be against Croatia at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia on June 27.
