The former Read Madrid boss has hailed the west African powerhouse for their gifted stars after taking up their vacant coaching role on a short-term deal for the upcoming global football event in the North American nations 

Ghana is a nation of talent, pride, and footballing soul, according to the newly appointed head coach of the Ghana national football team, Carlos Queiroz.

The 73-year-old experienced Portuguese manager is convinced that the four-time African champions remains a team with a rich football heritage and top-class talent producing country.

However, the former Manchester United assistant coach says he is looking forward to the task ahead as he arrives with respect for Ghana's history and belief in its future ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The former lran boss will have his first test at the helm when the Black Stars comes up against Mexico and Wales in a Pre-World Cup friendlies on May 22, 2026 and June 2, 2026 respectively.

Ghana have been paired alongside England, Croatia and Panama in group L of the 2026 World Cup to be staged in the United States, Canada and Mexico in June this year.
