Renowned Ghanaian journalist and SWAG President Kwabena Yeboah has thrown his support behind the appointment of Carlos Queiroz as head coach of the Black Stars.

Queiroz takes over from Otto Addo, who was relieved of his duties following Ghana’s disappointing performances in the March international window, where defeats to Austria and Germany raised concerns ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Following the Ghana Football Association’s decision to hand Queiroz the role ahead of the tournament, Yeboah believes the experienced Portuguese tactician commands the respect needed to manage the team effectively.

“I don’t think any player will ever attempt to disregard him.”

The veteran broadcaster’s comments highlight confidence in Queiroz’s pedigree, having previously worked with former Real Madrid, Manchester United, Egypt national team etc and is widely regarded as a strong personality capable of handling egos in the dressing room.

Ghana will open their campaign against Panama on June 17 in Toronto, before facing England and Croatia in what promises to be a challenging Group L.
