Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has called on his players to demonstrate greater passion and intensity as they prepare to face Sudan in their next Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying match.
Addo's plea comes after a disappointing performance in their recent 1-1 draw against Niger in Morocco, which left Ghana with only one point from two games.
Speaking at CAF's Coaches Symposium in Ivory Coast, Addo expressed his frustration with the team's lackluster display against Niger, urging them to step up in the critical fixture against Sudan.
"The biggest thing is that we show passion [against Sudan]," Addo told Micky Jnr. "This was lacking in our last game against Niger, and we have to bring this passion back on the field. Besides all the tactics and quality, we have to show passion, especially defensively, and intensity, to beat this team."
Ghana, desperate to revive their qualification hopes, must secure a win against Sudan to get back on track for the 2025 AFCON. Addo remains confident that with the right attitude and performance, his team can claim all three points.
"If we show it, I think everything is possible, and we can take some points from them," he added.
Ghana's upcoming match against Sudan is now seen as a must-win in order to keep their AFCON qualification campaign alive.
