Bofoakwa Tano FC earlier today at the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex, narrowly defeated defending champions Skyy FC by 1-0 to emerge winners of the 2023 Division One Super Cup.
Both teams have had impressive runs in the competition and exhibited their supremacy over all clubs they faced en route to the final.
The 'Esuo Eyiri Pe Bre' outfit relied on a late extra time goal to beat Nations FC whiles the Daboase-based side also with the same scoreline bested GPL newbies Heart of Lions to reach in their respective semi final games.
It was really a very tough encounter throughout with Bofoakwa Tano hoping to win the trophy for the first time and very much aware it was always going to be a tedious one especially against the holders.
However, after series of attempts on goal, Saaka Dauda finally found the back of the net on the 72nd minute and was enough to win the game and hand the Green and Whites the coveted trophy.
They become the third team to have their hands gripped on the trophy after Liberty Professionals and Skyy FC.
Both teams will also use this competition as the perfect avenue to test their strength ahead of the 2023/24 Ghana football season.
