Ebusua Dwarfs FC director John Ansah has been elected as the new chairman of Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) after the much-anticipated elections in Accra on Thursday, January 23, 2025.

Ansah, who served as the vice president of GHALCA, beat off competition from Isaac Wilberforce Koomson by polling 96 out of the 132 valid voters. Koomson lost the race after polling 35 votes.

The 2025 GHALCA elections which took at the Accra Sports Stadium also saw Phyllis Marku Monca winning the vice chairmanship position with Fred Tindah of Bibiani Goldstars winning the Premier League representative slot.

Other Election Results:

Vice-Chairmanship: Phyllis Marku Monca secured victory for this position.

Premier League Representative: Fred Tinda of Gold Stars triumphed over Asante Kotoko’s Joseph Nkoo and Vision FC’s Abdul Rahman Yakubu.

Unopposed positions:

Several positions were uncontested, with the following individuals set to assume office:

Treasurer: Patrick Martey Boye, who will retain his position for a second term.

Division One League Representative: Eric Opoku.

Regional Clubs Representative: Gabriel Godwin Kwao.

Women’s Premier League Representative: ASP Naomi F. Abdulai, CEO of Prisons Ladies.
