Ghana Women's Premier League side, Kumasi Sports Academy per reports, are currently in serious crises with few days to the commencement of the 2023/24 football season.
The Red-Whites are the female club of Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko SC- who adopted them months ago due to new CAF stipulation that insists any team to partake in their competitions from now henceforth must own a female side.
The Kumasi-based side use to compete in the topflight but got relegated after the 2021/22 campaign.
The team went back to patch up all cracks and in just a season, they have made a sensational return into the Premier League.
They were really dominant and outstanding in the Northern Zone, having finished as winners and stayed unbeaten throughout the Zonal Championship and the Middle League as well to secure qualification.
Speculations has it that, the club is very close to getting a new owners with lots of bids on board but current GFA Executive Council member Madam Gifty Oware Aboagye is in the lead now and is most likely she will be the one to acquire the club.
However, with the league starting this weekend, unpleasant reports from KUSA Ladies camp are that, the team hasn't had any proper preseason to adequately get themselves ready for the season and is due to the fact, the entire technical team have opted to resign since it is rumoured they are likely to be replaced after the takeover despite working really hard with the team from the second-tier till now.
It is also added that, the team as at now, doesn't even have set of jerseys to honour their games for the new season.
Kumasi Sports Academy will kickstart their return in the Premier League this weekend when they host Tamale-based side Pearlpia Ladies in their opening fixture of the new season.
