Italian Serie A giants Juventus are set to announce a partnership with former Black Stars midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah to open a football academy in Accra on Friday, October 27, 2023.

Ghana becomes the latest country in Africa after Tunisia, Tanzania, Morocco, Nigeria and South Africa to benefit from the Juventus' football youth developmental projects.

Juventus has over fifty (50) football academies across the globe which offers both the teaching and development of football skills and educational training, accompanying young players in their growth, from introduction to the game to maturity, and not exclusively within sport.

Kwadwo Asamoah, who spent over a decade in Italian football and enjoyed a trophy-laden career with the Bianconeri, is the co-founder of yet-to-be launched Juventus Football Academy Ghana.

Already, an ultra-modern training facility has been constructed in the nation's capital by the former Juventus and Inter Milan player for the project.

In October 2022, Asamoah announced his retirement from football at age 33 due to series of injuries and opted to begin new life as a football intermediary.

Playing for Udinese, Juventus, Inter Milan and Calgaria — all in Italy — he made 279 Serie A appearances, making the most capped African in the league.

Asamoah capped 74 times for the Black Stars of Ghana and represented the nation at five Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) - in 2008, 2010, 2012, 2013 and 2019.

He helped the Black Stars finish runners-up in 2010 AFCON, before starring at two World Cups in 2010 and 2014 when the West Africans reached the quarter-finals in South Africa.
