Ghanaian striker Hans Kwofie was confirmed dead in a car accident on Friday afternoon in Tarkwa, Kickgh.com has been informed.

The 34-year-old, who won the 2016/17 Ghana Premier League goal king award, was involved in a ghastly car crash at Dawden near Tarkwa.

 

Kwofie has been unattached since leaving Nepal Super League outfit Birgunj United in February. He started his football career in Ghana at Kessben FC before it as rebranded to Medeama SC and featured for the Tarkwa-based outfit for over five years.

 

The burly striker left Medeama SC in 2015 to join Omani side Al Orouba FC and later returned to the Ghana Premier League to play for Bechem United and AshantiGold SC.

 

During the 2017/18 season, Kwofie netted 17 goals for AshantiGold SC to emerge as the top scorer of the Ghana Premier League.

 

He left to join Egyptian club Smouha SC after winning the goal king award and later moved to Tanzania to play for Singida United.

 

Recently, Kwofie played for Legon Cities and AshantiGold SC in the Ghana Premier League.

 

Kwofie once featured for the Black Galaxies and the Ghana U23 team.
