AJ Auxerre defender Gideon Mensah has been ruled out of Ghana's penultimate fixture against Madagascar in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

 
Mensah, who arrived in camp of the Black Stars on Monday, has been declared unfit by the medical team after undergoing a scan earlier today.
 
The 24-year-old missed the Black Stars first training session held at the Accra Sports Stadium on Monday evening.
 
Mensah was instrumental in AJ Auxerre's 2022/23 season's campaign in the French Ligue 1 after making 26 appearances.
 
Kickgh.com understands that Coach Chris Hughton is considering handing a late call-up to a left-back from a Ghana Premier League club to join the Black Stars team for the upcoming game against Madagascar.
 
The Black Stars began training at the Accra Sports stadium on Monday, June 12 in readiness for the crucial clash in Antananarivo.
