Ghana's national team coach, Chris Hughton, has emphasized the importance of not underestimating Madagascar in the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualification match.
During a media briefing on Tuesday, June 13, the former Brighton & Hove Albion manager highlighted that the Black Stars are approaching the game with equal preparation and respect for their opponents.
Hughton acknowledged the challenge posed by Madagascar and stressed the need for thorough preparation to face them effectively. He emphasized that his team is conducting in-depth research and analysis on the opposition, recognizing that every international team is determined to perform well.
The coach reiterated that there are no easy matches at this level, and the Black Stars will not take any opponent lightly, including Madagascar.
“When we do our homework, when we watch the opposition, there isn’t one opposition that we see that we think this is going to be easy. There isn’t one. Every international team is fighting to do well. The Madagascar team will be no different,” Coach Chris Hughton said.
In their preparations for the crucial match scheduled for Sunday, June 18, the Black Stars have been actively training on Monday and Tuesday.
They will continue their training sessions on Wednesday and Thursday, maintaining a focused mindset as they travel to Antananarivo for the AFCON qualifier, with the ultimate goal of securing victory.
