Newly-appointed Blacks Stars coach Carlos Queiroz is expected to arrive in Ghana this week with a five-member backroom staff as preparations intensify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The Portuguese tactician will begin work immediately upon arrival, with changes anticipated within the current technical team as some existing members are expected to step aside to make way for his preferred staff.

As part of official protocol, the Ghana Football Association will formally introduce Queiroz to Sports Minister Kofi Adams following his unveiling, marking another key step in Ghana’s build-up to the tournament.

Queiroz is also set to reunite with trusted assistant Roger De Sa, with whom he has previously worked in Iran, Qatar and Egypt, where they guided the Pharaohs to the 2021 AFCON final. Their long-standing partnership is expected to play a crucial role in shaping Ghana’s technical direction.

De Sa brings additional experience at club level, having led Orlando Pirates to the CAF Champions League final in 2013.

The arrival of Queiroz and his team signals the beginning of a new era for Ghana, as the Black Stars aim to build a competitive squad capable of making a strong impact at the global tournament.
