Ghanaian lower-division side Cheetah FC have announced a partnership with Belgian Jupiler Pro League side KAA Gent, aimed at improving talent development and creating opportunities for young players to pursue professional careers in Europe.

The agreement will establish a direct link between the two clubs, with KAA Gent’s sporting director and technical scouting team expected to make occasional visits to Cheetah FC.

The visits will allow the Belgian club’s representatives to assess emerging talents at the Ghanaian academy while also providing technical support to the club’s local coaching staff.

Under the partnership, selected Cheetah FC players will travel to Belgium for trials at KAA Gent, giving promising prospects an opportunity to impress the club’s technical team and potentially secure permanent contracts.

Cheetah FC have built a reputation for identifying and developing African football talents, with former and current players including Christian Atsu, Alhassan Wakaso, Kwasi Sibo, Ernest Ohemeng, Mohammed Iddriss and Emmanuel Toku among those associated with the club.

The collaboration is expected to strengthen Cheetah FC’s player development structure while giving KAA Gent closer access to emerging Ghanaian talents, creating a new route for young footballers seeking to make the transition to European football.
