During a pre-match press conference, Black Stars coach Chris Hughton explained why Baba Rahman was excluded from Ghana's 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
Rahman, who has been a key member of the team, was left out of the 25-man squad for the doubleheader against Palancras Negras of Angola due to an injury he sustained at his club, Reading FC.
Hughton stated that Rahman has been out for the past three weeks and has not played for his club during that period.
"It’s very easy, Baba Rahman is injured. He is been injured for the past three weeks. If you look at probably the last three week or a month he hasn’t played for his club Reading FC.
The Black Stars will host Angola on March 23, 2023, at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi later today before they will travel to Luanda for the return leg encounter of the AFCON qualifiers on March 27, 2023.
