Black Starlets Head Coach Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum has made two changes to the side that defeated South Africa 3-1 for Ghana’s crucial FIFA U17 World Cup qualification play-off clash against Uganda in Morocco.
The Black Starlets head into the decisive encounter knowing victory will secure Ghana a place at the FIFA U17 World Cup in Qatar later this year.
Dr. Ogum has handed Clement Agyei a starting role in attack ahead of Robinho Yao Gavi as the technical team looks to add fresh attacking energy to the side.
In defense, Nicholas Asumang comes into the starting line-up at right back in place of deputy captain Mujahid Osman.
The rest of the team remains unchanged following the impressive performance against South Africa in the final group game.
Goalkeeper John Annan retains his place between the posts, while Gabriel Denyinah continues at left back.
At the heart of the defense, the dependable partnership of Jacob Kofi Kpoeti and Isaac Barfo will once again be tasked with keeping the Ugandan attack at bay.
Captain Joseph Narbi, who scored twice against South Africa, keeps his place in midfield alongside Michael Awuli and Abdul Latif Wunzalgu.
Dr. Ogum will be hoping the changes inspire another strong performance from the Black Starlets as Ghana seeks to return to the FIFA U17 World Cup stage.
The encounter against Uganda is expected to be fiercely contested, with both nations chasing one of Africa’s final qualification slots for the global tournament.
