The Ghana Football Association have announced two high profile friendly matches for the Black Stars ahead of the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup which is six months away from now. 

The first friendly was announced in December last year against Germany and against Austria which was on table recently, has now been finalized with all games set to be played in the next international and the first one for the year. 

The four-time African champions will take on Austria on March 27, at the Ernst Happel Stadium in Vienna, before they take on Germany on March 30, confirmed in a Facebook post made by GFA Spokesperson Henry Asante Twum. 

These two friendlies will form part of Ghana’s preparations and for both countries also, to assess their team’s strengths and weaknesses in the lead-up to the 2026 FIFA World Cup in Mexico, Canada, and the United States of America. 

The Black Stars qualified convincingly as group winners for the 2026 World Cup and will compete in Group L against England, Croatia, and Panama. 

Ghana will open their 2026 FIFA World Cup campaign against Panama on June 17 in Toronto, face England in Boston, and conclude the group stage against Croatia on June 27 in Philadelphia, as the Black Stars aim to recapture their 2010 magic on the world stage.
