Head coach of the Black Satellites, Desmond Ofei has heaped praises on his lads after securing a semi final spot and added they now focused on securing a spot to the next U-20 AFCON.
Ghana booked themselves a ticket to the last four of the competition after a one-all draw in the final group fixture at the Stade Municipal on Wednesday evening.
Afriyie increased his goal tally at the ongoing tournament to three after brilliantly connecting a pass from Misbau Aziz to hand Ghana a deserving lead but was subsequently cancelled out by EurAfrica Academy sensation Ouzeroudine Kperedja to split the score.
Reacting to the qualification, the Ghanaian-Belgian tactician lauded the Togo opposition and made it very clear his next target is to qualify for the next CAF youth championship.
“We are very happy. I think the first target in every tournament is the qualification to the semis and we made it and so now all focus on the semis.”
“I want to congratulate Togo. The fought really hard for this. Our boys did really hard and we are very happy that we are in the semis. Today’s game was really tough. Togo is very good. Tactically it was really tough but in the end we managed to get the qualification so we are happy.”
The Black Satellites will get to know their semi final opponents later today after the final round of games in Group B.
