Hearts of Oak legend Mohammed Ahmed Polo has expressed caution over the appointment of Masud Didi Dramani as head coach, insisting that the new managerial change does not automatically guarantee success for the club.

Dramani, a former Black Stars assistant coach, has signed a two-year deal with the Phobians ahead of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season. He brings a wealth of experience, having previously led Asante Kotoko to two league titles and an FA Cup, and also served as head coach at the Right to Dream Academy.

Despite the optimism surrounding his appointment, Polo remains skeptical. In an interview with Sporty FM, he emphasized that Hearts of Oak's problems run deeper than coaching appointments.

“Didi Dramani’s appointment doesn’t guarantee success. What is he coming to do?” Polo questioned. “Aboubakar Ouattara came in and nearly led the club to relegation. In his second season, he didn’t win anything. Now Didi is coming, but that alone won't bring success unless the right things are done.”

He stressed the need for structural changes and proper planning if Hearts of Oak hopes to return to its glory days.

Meanwhile, the club has reassigned former head coach Aboubakar Ouattara to a new role as Special Advisor to the Board of Directors, following his 18-month spell in charge.
